🔐 Short version: We only collect what we need to connect you with the right soul. We never sell your data. You are always in control.

When you use SOULENCE, we may collect the following information:

Account Data: Your name, email address, date of birth, gender, and sexual preference.
Profile Data: Photos, bio, location, occupation, and interests you choose to share.
Usage Data: How you interact with profiles (likes, passes), messages you send, and features you use.
Voice Data: Audio recordings made during Voice Match sessions. These are processed locally and not permanently stored.
Device Data: Device type, operating system, and browser for security and performance purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Show your profile to compatible users based on your preferences.
Facilitate matches, messages, and Voice Match sessions.
Improve our matching algorithm and app performance.
Send you notifications about new matches and messages (only if enabled).
Verify identity and prevent fraudulent activity.
Comply with legal obligations.

3. Information Sharing

We never sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data in limited circumstances:

With other users: Your public profile (name, photo, bio) is visible to other users in their discovery feed.
Service providers: We work with trusted partners for hosting and analytics under strict data processing agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect safety.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your profile is removed within 30 days. Message history may be retained for up to 90 days for safety reasons.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access and download a copy of your data.
Correct inaccurate information at any time via your profile page.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Opt out of non-essential communications from the Settings page.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS encryption, and prepared SQL statements to protect your data from unauthorized access.
